getting there... The NEW Lake County Fairgrounds are located at the intersection of Peterson & Midlothian Roads (the entrance is an extension of Midlothian Road), approximately 6 miles west of I-94 off the Buckley Road/Rt 137 exit. Here is our very own map: (click here for printable version)
From Metra: The North Central Service (NCS) of Metra has a station at Prairie Crossing/Libertyville. It is less than a mile from the fairgrounds. We do not have shuttle service at this time, but there are cab companies - see Lake County Visitors Bureau link below. Here is a map of the route from station to fairgrounds.
from I-94: Exit 137 Buckley Road west. Approximately 4 miles later, just past the intersection of N. Butterfield Road, take a right exit for Peterson Road. Continue west on Peterson Road to light at N. Midlothian Road - turn right into Fairgrounds. from Rockford: Toni Neil has recommended this scenic and direct route from Rockford (click "View Larger Map" to get driving directions):
